14 Dead Bodies Found by the Army in the Delta Community

Under the direction of Major General Jamal Abdussalam, the General Officer Commanding the 6th Division of the Nigerian Army, soldiers of the Joint Task Force retrieved 14 dead bodies of killed soldiers in the early hours of Saturday at Okuama community in the Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State.

It was said that several of the bodies retrieved had been decapitated, and that others had had their guts and hearts severed.

The remains of the two deceased majors and the commanding officer were seen floating by the river bank at the NDDC jetty in the coastal Delta village, while the others were separated on land.

Meanwhile, members of the 6 Division Nigerian Army, Port Harcourt—which is also in charge of the 63 Brigade in Asaba, the capital of Delta State—have sealed off the whole population in the local government districts of Bomadi and Ughelli South in Delta State.

The terrible deaths of the 12 soldiers and four senior officers have prompted Christopher Musa, Chief of Defence Staff, to launch an investigation.
