A court orders INEC to keep Bwacha on the list of candidates for the Taraba APC governorship

Senator Emmanuel Bwacha has once again been recognized by Judge Bala Usman of the Federal High Court in Jalingo as the legitimate All Progressive Congress (APC) candidate for the March 18 governorship election.

In its decision on the lawsuit brought by the APC requesting that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) refrain from removing its candidate off its portal or ballot paper before to the governorship election, the court once again upheld Bwacha’s candidacy.

Judge Usman emphasized the need to maintain the Supreme Court’s decision, which includes an accompanying order directing the APC to have a new primary in which Emmanuel was declared the party’s nominee.

He stated that if anyone was unhappy with the way the primary was conducted, they should submit a pre-election matter, and if no one did to contest the primary’s results, Bwacha was still the rightful candidate.

In response to inquiries from reporters shortly after the court’s decision, the attorney for the APC emphasized that INEC lacks the authority to act as a court by removing Bwacha’s name off its website.

However, the INEC legal counsel declined to speak to the media.
