After selling 500,000 units, Wizkid’s “Made In Lagos” receives U.S. Gold Certification.

The “Made in Lagos” album by Wizkid has now sold 500,000 copies here. The fourth studio album from the Afrobeats king was released on October 30, 2020, and two years later, it’s still causing a stir.

Since its release, the album has received over 1 billion streams across all digital service providers, including 322 million streams on Apple Music, 229 million streams on Spotify, 227 million streams on YouTube, over 140 million streams on Audiomack, over 40 million streams on Boomplay, and over 20 million streams on Pandora (DSPs)

In the first quarter of 2022, the album received a Silver certification in the U.K. after selling more than 60,000 copies. It has since received a Gold certification in the U.S. after selling 500,000 copies.

Numerous milestones have been broken by the album, including the first African album to reach the Top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100 and the longest-charting African album ever with a record-breaking 72 weeks on the charts.
