Buhari asks foreign envoys once more not to meddle in the 2023 elections

President Muhammadu Buhari has urged representatives of foreign governments once more not to intervene in Nigeria’s domestic affairs in the run-up to the 2023 general elections.

When the ambassadors of Switzerland, Sweden, the Republic of Ireland, the Kingdom of Thailand, the Republic of Senegal, and the Republic of South Sudan presented him with letters of credence at the White House, the President made this known.

In addition, President Buhari said that Nigeria and ECOWAS are collaborating closely to address regional insecurity and put strategies in place to stop a wave of unlawful changes to the region’s political system.

He called for cooperation and collaboration from the countries to overcome challenges in West Africa.

The challenge of insecurity, the fight against corruption, the diversification of the economy, and our efforts to promote good governance have all been invited by President Buhari to friendly nations.

Foreign ambassadors had been requested by President Buhari in February 2022 not to engage in Nigerian politics.
