I sat for JAMB five times, claims “Ijo Labalaba.” Cartoon Crooner

Afrobeat musician Crayon has discussed his path into music, revealing that he attempted the UTME administered by Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) five times before entering the entertainment industry.

Before getting into music, Crayon, whose actual name is Charles Chibuezechukwu, says he had trouble getting into a tertiary institution.

The singer of “Ijo Labalaba” told Channels Television’s Rubbin Mind on Sunday, “It has been great and beautiful to witness because I have been working throughout the years and now, I am now finally getting the respect that I deserve.”

Therefore, it (recognition) is lovely to observe among my followers, team, and everyone who is familiar with me.

“I officially started making music in 2016,” he continued. I was applying to universities at the time even though I wasn’t in school. I penned JAMB five times.

The young man provided more information regarding his attempt to acquire entrance and claimed that it wasn’t all about him.

“I failed the first two attempts; nevertheless, I succeeded the following three. I kept going to the school to voice my grievances and inquire as to what was going on. He remarked during the performance that it (being admitted) wasn’t simply occurring for him. I believe it was God’s plan to reroute me.

He claimed that in addition to working to advance his academic career, he also had a second endeavor.

I played football even before I started creating music. I used to play football, attend practices, attend academies, and do other things related to it because I really enjoy it.
