Seun Egbegbe, a Nigerian filmmaker and Toyin Abraham’s former boyfriend, was reunited with his mother on Tuesday, six years after he was released from prison.
Seun was released from jail detention on Wednesday, October 12, 2022, by a Federal High court in Lagos after serving six years and eight months in prison.
After being accused of defrauding no less than 40 Bureaus De Change (BDC) operators in various areas of Lagos over a two-year period between 2015 and 2017, Egbegbe was remanded on February 10, 2017.
A video of Toyin’s ex-lover giving his mother a sweet hug as he was surrounded by friends and relatives went viral online.
The mother, whose delight knew no bounds, hugged her kid firmly and wept as she thanked God for bringing her son back in one piece.
“Not seeing my mum for 6 years was incredibly disheartening, but thank God I was able to feel her yesterday.. what God cannot do does not exist,” he wrote in the caption of the video when he shared it.
