Africa Eco Race 2026 Concludes in Dakar: A Journey Ends
The final competitive stage of the Africa Eco Race 2026 signaled the beginning of the end of an extraordinary journey, as competitors reached the iconic finish line of the annual rally on the shores of Lac Rose in Dakar.
Spanning 475 kilometers, including 103 kilometers of timed special stage, this transitional leg between Mauritania and Senegal offered a striking change in scenery.
Vast stretches of sand dunes gradually gave way to open savannah landscapes. With every passing kilometer, the light, vegetation, and overall atmosphere of the rally transformed.
In the Senegalese special stage, rich in emotion, competitors were warmly welcomed by large crowds of spectators gathered around villages, cheering the passing convoy and highlighting the deeply human spirit at the heart of the Africa Eco Race.
Both symbolic and unforgettable, this stage locked in the standings and confirmed the final results of the 17th edition of the event.
The special-stage winners across categories were Jean-Loup Lepan (motorbike), Magdalena ZajÄ…c (cars), Enrico Gaspari (SSV), and Gerrit Zuurmond (trucks).
Overall victory went to Kevin Gallas (motorbike), David Gérard (cars), Martijn Van Den Broek (SSV), and Gerrit Zuurmond (trucks).
