In Imo, gunmen attack a police checkpoint, killing two officers and a civilian

According to the state police command, gunmen killed two officers and a civilian in an attack on a police checkpoint in Imo on Monday.

The incident occurred near Ahiara Junction in Imo State’s Ahiazu Mbaise Local Government Area, heightening tensions in the area. According to sources, when the hoodlums arrived at the intersection, they opened fire on the cops, who perished on the spot, while a stray bullet killed the other person, a passer-by.
