Phyna of Big Brother Naija Discusses Losing Big Deals Due To Controversial Lifestyle

Ijeoma Otabor, also known as Phyna, the winner of Big Brother Naija’s ‘Level Up’ series, has disclosed how a social media controversy led to the loss of multiple ambassadorial assignments.
Phyna revealed this during an interview with her colleague, Doyin, for the podcast ‘Doyin’s Corner.’

According to the reality TV personality, she has lost 17 commercial deals as a result of social media disputes.

According to her, a major company refused to collaborate with her because of allegations that she was an abuser, emphasizing that the deal occurred at a period when blogs and media accused her of slapping someone.

“Two weeks ago, my manager and I calculated how many deals I lost from last year to now,” she explained. We counted 17 transactions. I am aware of one major brand that informed me that they will not cooperate with me because I am an abuser. They stated they couldn’t deal with an abuser, and that was around the time blogs were reporting that I slapped someone.”

I will never advocate for abortion.
Meanwhile, Phyna has explained her position on the contentious abortion statement.

During an interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo, the reality TV star claimed that most women have had abortions at least once or twice.

Phyna, who revealed during her Big Brother House stint that she had previously had an abortion, said some people tried to use her discovery to ridicule her after the show, but she refused to be bullied.

The statement sparked controversy among fans and colleagues, notably Nigerian female DJ Switch, who asked Phyna to avoid making such broad generalizations.

Phyna apologized on Friday on her Instagram page, saying she was too vocal in the heat of the interview and didn’t mean to project it on every female.

The reality TV personality stated that she does not support abortion and should not be portrayed in this manner.

She also stated her intention to collaborate with gender-based organizations and non-governmental organizations to raise awareness and educate girls about abortion and other issues that affect them.
