China promised on Monday to work for “healthy and stable” relations with South Korea after Seoul’s Constitutional Court initiated proceedings against impeached President Yoon Suk Yeol.

“Promoting the healthy and stable development of China-South Korea ties accords with the common interests of both sides,” Beijing’s foreign ministry spokesperson Lin Jian said at a routine press conference.
