Sam Olumekun, National Commissioner for INEC and Chairman of the Information and Voter Education Committee, issued a statement announcing that the test run would occur simultaneously in the three States on Saturday, October 14, 2023, from 8.30 am to 2.30 pm.
The Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) and the INEC Result Viewing Portal (IReV) would be used to conduct the fake accreditation, according to the commission.

Mock voter accreditation for the upcoming off-cycle elections for governorship
The Commission met today, Monday, September 25, 2023, and discussed a variety of topics, including the preparations for the upcoming off-cycle governorship elections in the states of Bayelsa, Imo, and Kogi, slated for Saturday, November 11, 2023.
The Commission will use the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS), as it did in recent off-cycle governorship elections, to perform a mock accreditation and post polling unit results to the INEC Result Viewing Portal (IReV). On Saturday, October 14, 2023, from 8.30 am to 2.30 pm, the test run will occur concurrently in the three States.
In each of the three States, a maximum of three polling places have been designated for each senatorial district, totaling nine senatorial districts and 27 polling places. The exercise’s lessons will be taken into account to ensure a smooth process on election day.
Our website and social media channels have been updated with complete information on the polling places, including their locations by Local Government Area (LGA), Registration Area (RA)/Ward, Delimitation Code, and number of registered voters.
The Commission requests that all registered voters show up at the polls with their Permanent Voters’ Cards (PVCs) for the election.
This is just a test accreditation exercise, not the actual election, the public is advised.
