The federal government has announced intentions to generate one million jobs to combat young unemployment in all 774 local government districts around the country.

Comrade Ayodele Olawande, Minister of State for Youth Development, announced on Friday in Abuja that the federal government is committed to leveraging digital technology to educate, motivate, and link Nigerian youngsters to employment and opportunities in the insurance sector.

The minister also stated that the federal government is committed to promoting youth engagement in the insurance business, creating jobs, and improving financial inclusion.

The development comes after the Rural Electrification Agency (REA) announced that starting in November, the Federal Government will launch a new rural electrification initiative funded by the World Bank to bring energy to 17.5 million Nigerians.
