The Gombe State Governor, Muhammdu Inuwa Yahaya, has given his approval for the Kumo Management to continue in their positions for a another six months beginning on July 1.
Prof. Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, Secretary to the State Government, conveyed the governor’s consent on Saturday through Ismaila Uba Misilli, Director General of Press Affairs.
The state government stated that the decision was made as a result of the management’s contract expiring at the end of June and the necessity to support a seamless takeover of the institution by the Lincoln University College, Malaysia.

Gombe State University of Science and Technology Management’s tenure is extended by the governor Inuwa Yahaya by six months.
The Gombe State Governor, Muhammdu Inuwa Yahaya, CON, (Dan Majen Gombe), has approved the extension of the mandate of the Kumo Management for a period of six months beginning July 1, 2023.
The decision was made in response to their contract expiring at the end of this June and the necessity to ensure a smooth transfer of control of the institution to the Lincoln University College Malaysia, according to Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, Secretary to the State Government, who delivered the Governor’s consent.
Recall that in order to support academic operations at the Gombe State University of Science and Technology Kumo and transform the institution into a center of academic excellence, the Gombe State Government inked a Public Private Partnership (PPP) deal with the Lincoln University College of Malaysia.
The MoU is the agreement that would revive the long-standing but formerly dormant University in order to transform it into a top-tier organization that could successfully compete in the community of other worldwide universities.
