There was a scuffle when Allwell Ihunda, the former chairman of the Port Harcourt Local Government Area in Rivers State, attempted to enter the council secretariat.

Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State has requested the Heads of Local Government Administration to take leadership of the state’s 23 councils. On Monday, the council chairpersons, vice chairpersons, and councillors completed their three-year terms.

However, in viral recordings verified by Channels Television, bullets were fired as Allwell sought to enter the secretariat. He was chased away by some adolescents when he attempted to enter the premises.

A vehicle belonging to George Ariolu, the former local government chairman of Obio/Akpor, was also vandalised.
