INSECURITY: Sunday Igboho: “I’ll keep fighting against injustice in S-West”

The leader of the YORUBA Nation, Mr. Sunday Adeyemo, popularly called Sunday Igboho, has sworn to keep protecting his people from outsiders.

He made this statement at Igboho Town at his mother’s funeral, which took place while he was out of the nation last year.

Remember that on July 1, 2021, a group of security officers raided Igboho’s Soka home in Ibadan, murdering two people and detaining thirteen of his supporters. As a result, Igboho left the nation. Later, while traveling from Benin Republic to Germany, Igboho was detained.

After that, the Beninoise government gave him bail.

He pointed out that while everyone else in the West was silent, he spearheaded the demonstrations against the murder of his people.

Speaking about the assault of his home during the previous government, he described the purported plot by former President Muhammadu Buhari to murder him.

“Buhari wanted to kill me,” he declared. All of our rulers and elders were too scared to speak. Buhari was their fear. I rebelled against the Fulani herdsmen who were slaughtering our people in the South West, and Nnamdi Kanu did the same in the East. I said that since our leaders were using falsehood to rule us, a single Nigeria would not function.

“If we need help from our elders or traditional rulers, we should lobby them not to disregard or abuse them,” the activist added, emphasizing the necessity for the youths to reject violence and hooliganism while seeking their interests.
Igboho stated that the previous administration had blocked all of his financial accounts after succinctly detailing the suffering he had endured at the hands of the previous administration.

“My entire bank account was frozen by the Nigerian government, and my property was destroyed,” he stated. The Yoruba diaspora was the group that saved me. They saw to me and paid my bills, telling me that my suffering shouldn’t be in vain.

Furthermore, he stated: “We don’t need to use violence and thuggery to gain what is rightfully ours. Nobody can claim that I killed anyone or damaged their property during any of the protests I organized throughout the South West. I felt at ease. I may declare that I am a member of the affluent men’s group; I am not a hooligan.

My friends started phoning me then, trying to give me money and asking what made me join the protests. However, I clarified that my desire was for my people’s independence rather than money.

He pledged to support carefully chosen security guards who would protect his people on their farms against invaders, explaining that he would always defend his people against them.

Igboho declared: “I want them to return to their farms free from rape, kidnapping, murder, or serious injury.” Our moms and dads are no longer able to work on farms. So let’s get our protection and rid our farms of the murderers.”
He described how much he would have loved to see his mother alive in an emotive voice.

Due to me, my mother passed away. I once prayed to God, asking Him to provide me the victory against those who would not allow me to bury my mother, and He heard me. He said, “I wish I had met my mom before she passed away.”
