Nigeria Police Issues List of Successful Candidates; Check Your Name

The Police Service Commission (PSC) has approved and issued the list of 10,000 successful applicants for recruitment into the Nigeria Police Force’s Constable cadre.

In a statement, PSC spokesperson Ikechukwu Ani said, “the Commission today, Tuesday, June 4, 2024, received the report of the Police Recruitment Board. 9,000 applicants were approved for General Duty, while 1,000 were selected for the Specialists cadre.

“To guarantee fairness and justice in the recruitment process, the Commission spoke with important stakeholders such as the Nigeria Police Force, the National Assembly, and the Federal Character Commission. It provided an equitable distribution of winning candidates across the country’s 774 local government districts.”

Recall that the commission had previously established a recruitment board, a broad-based stakeholders body comprised of representatives from the Commission, the Nigeria Police Force, the Ministry of Police Affairs, the Federal Character Commission, Police Colleges, and the Police Trust Fund, to oversee the recruitment process and report back to the commission.

“Interested Nigerian teenagers were asked to apply online for consideration for the next stages of the exercise via paid advertisements in different national media outlets. Interested applicants were given six weeks to complete their online applications (15th October to 26th November 2023), in accordance with the Federal Character standards.
