Oba Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi, the Ooni of Ife, has explained why he married so many ladies so quickly.
It should be remembered that the Ooni, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, has quickly amassed a number of wives in his palace, much like the kings before him.
The monarch has previously been married, the most recent being to prophetess Seyi Naomi, who stated on Instagram that she will divorce him in 2021.
This prompted the King to wed Mariam Anako, an Ebira-born queen, in September 2022.
The monarch married Dr. Elizabeth Akinmuda in the same month.
He wedded Queen Ashley, Queen Ronke Ademiluyi, and Queen Tobi Phillips in October.
According to reports, the monarch will receive Princess Temitope Adesegun, his sixth marriage, today, October 24.
Speaking about his current trend of getting married to several ladies, Ooni, who was celebrating his 48th birthday and seventh coronation anniversary, said that he tried to make adjustments but was unable.
The monarch, perhaps alluding to his choice to have concubines in addition to a single queen, declared of Ile Ife’s cultural history, “This institution is bigger than me, beyond me. More than 800, almost 1,000 people are housed in this palace. Some residents of this palace have been here for more than 60 years, while others have done so for more than 80. In this palace, some residents are over 100 years old.
I attempted to question it, but it blew in my face; thank God I’m still alive. It is a place with a rich history, culture, and traditions.
