“What Muslims Who Cannot Afford Ram Should Do” on Eid-El-Kabir
Dr. Tajudeen Adebayo, a reputable Islamic scholar in Lagos, has said that Muslims who are unable to afford ram for the 2024 Eid-el-Kabir celebration should not be saddened but should instead cling to hope for a brighter tomorrow.
Adebayo, the Head Imam of the Falomo Central Mosque in Lagos State, reportedly gave his advice at a news conference on Friday in advance of this weekend’s Sallah celebration,
He exhorted those who can afford to do so to show kindness and affection to other believers.
“We shouldn’t be upset if this year’s ram killing is prevented by the state of the economy. There will be another wonderful moment.
“Let those who can afford to kill a ram stretch their compassionate hands to those who cannot kill.
They must understand that neither the meat nor the blood will reach Allah; rather, the piety with which the sacrifice is performed is most important,” Adebayo stated.
The preacher also advised all Muslim believers to recognize the importance of the festival for their spiritual development.
“I want to encourage all Muslims to perceive Eid beyond the narrow scope of merrymaking.
“Muslims should remember the trial of Prophet Ibrahim, which concluded in the rejoicing.
“The Eid was not a moment of happiness when it started, but it later turned to happiness,” Adebayo stated.
Muslims across the world are set to celebrate 2024 Eid-el-Kabir on Sunday, June 16.
