Xavi Alonso Names Leverkusen’s Premier League Title Contenders
Bayer Leverkusen manager Xavi Alonso spoke about the Premier League title fight, stating that Arsenal and Liverpool will be strong competitors against Manchester City.
Following his team’s 4-1 defeat to Arsenal in a pre-season friendly on Wednesday night, Xavi Alonso underlined Arsenal’s potential, adding that Mikel Arteta’s leadership and the club’s ongoing project make them a formidable force in the forthcoming Premier League season.
Alonso, who led Bayer Leverkusen to victory in the German Bundesliga without losing a game last season, acknowledged City’s dominance and predicted that Liverpool, among other clubs, will provide a challenge in the title fight.
This viewpoint comes following Arsenal’s close chase of the league title during the last two seasons, as well as recent team additions, which have set the stage for a fascinating Premier League fight.
