Inspector, Two Security Guards Shot In Ogun Hotel Robbery

The victims were shot on Friday while participating in a hotel robbery operation as police officers engaged the thieves in a gunfight.

At Sagamu’s Olabisi Onabanjo Teaching Hospital (OOUTH), the injured policeman and the security guards were saved.

The Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola, revealed this in a statement, stating that the Sagamu Area command received a distress call at around one in the morning informing them that armed thugs were operating at the Remo Majestic Hotel in Sagamu.

At around 1:00 a.m., Acpol Sagamu got a distress call reporting the presence of armed criminals at the Remo Majestic Hotel in Sagamu. A mixed team of Policemen was sent to the area based on the report, she said.

Odutola claimed that the hoodlums began intermittent firing as soon as they spotted the policemen, and the policemen engaged the hoodlums. While several of the thugs fled into a nearby thicket with gunshot wounds, two of them were mortally injured.

Two locally made single barrel rifles, four unexpended ammunition, thirteen spent cartridges, one large pair of scissors, ten Android phones, one Java phone, and a white Toyota Venza automobile with the registration number BWR 123DD Abuja were among the things recovered from the robbers.

Alamutu Abiodun, the commissioner of police, commanded an urgent manhunt for the two evading suspects who were wounded by gunfire.
