Joey Akan Critiques Wizkid Over Davido Feud Controversy

Joey Akan, a Nigerian journalist, has chastised Grammy-winning singer Wizkid for reigniting his long-running feud with his colleague Davido.
The drama began on Tuesday, when Davido unveiled his first song of 2024, hinting that it will be a hit.

However, on his X page, Wizkid said, “P***y boys dropping mid again, una don tire!” “Make una go rest small!”

Although the ‘Ojuelegba’ hitmaker did not mention Davido by name, fans viewed the tweet as a direct strike at him.

A Davido fan, however, retaliated against Wizkid, accusing him of manipulating the ‘Assurance’ singer to gain clout.

The user wrote: “So if you don’t have beef with Davido, your song won’t sell?”Wizkid said, “I don’t beef wack niggas! We all know he’s crazy! No talent!

Joey expressed disgust with Wizkid in a post on X, calling it as’repeated waves of secondhand disgrace’ and claiming that nothing has came of it since 1992.

Joey also attacked Wizkid for attacking Davido’s work, claiming that the ‘Ojuelegba’ singer’s art has been disconnected for two years.

He wrote, “Wizkid’s dragging Davido doesn’t hit as hard as drama-thirsty NPC FCs would have him believe. It fails miserably, being more unpleasant than entertaining or lovable.

“It basically elicits a sharp dose of empathy from me. And lasting disappointment from numerous bouts of secondhand shame.

“Once again, the moment he descended the Mt Olympus of “Made in Lagos” and resumed his interactions with mankind.

All he’s shown us is a widespread recognition that the gods are motivated by the same things that drive humanity. Ego. Pettiness. Malice?

“Nothing profound has emerged from this era thus far. Just bile. Vile public attacks. And an insistence on imposing a 1992 beef.

You can’t be dragging your colleague’s art while yours has been offline for two years.

“Zero self-awareness.” A loss of attention to the pulse of the people. Or a critique of a lack of understanding of the public’s behavioral input.

“People wait for music, and you feed us steak. Reading the audience incorrectly.

“Drop for us.”
