According to Nollywood actress Ini Obong Edo, some men want to be with subservient women they can manage.
According to the actress, males see “overly successful” women as a threat to their position in the family.

The actress stated that she prefers to be a “queen,” emphasizing that she dislikes the thought of “lording over” a guy.

This was stated by the mother of one in the most recent episode of Toke Makinwa’s show.
“Naturally, men want to see you [women] not so successful just so they can pull you around, so you can be the woman, cook and clean and do all the basic things that they’ve grown up knowing is expected of women.”

When you get too powerful, it’s almost as if you’re battling with their ego. But, as I’ve always said, I prefer to be the queen. I’m not the type of lady that wants to dominate or ride over men.

I don’t think I’d want to be lording over a man, no matter how successful I become. So, what is the allure of it? I mean, the beauty of it is that I’m going beside my boyfriend as he gives me directions and protects me.

She went on to say that it’s difficult to find men who understand that successful women aren’t a threat to their position as the head of the household.
