Following Naira Marley’s detention by police for questioning regarding the circumstances surrounding the September 12 death of well-known singer Mohbad, 27, in Lagos, the news was made just a few days later.
Five persons in total, including the nurse, were detained.
According to a Lagos police commissioner, Idowu Owohunwa, this woman, Feyisayo Ogedengbe, had been called by one of Mohbad’s acquaintances to visit and treat him at his home. The musician began to throw up and convulse after she gave him three shots, some of which contained antibiotics.
“She is the main suspect in Mohbad’s death” , he stated.
The nursing assistant was “professionally negligent” and unqualified to perform such treatments, the police claimed.
Lawyers for the nurse and the other suspects were not immediately available.
Among them was one of the singer’s friends, Owodunni Oluwatosin, known as Prime Boy, who had quarreled with the singer a few days before his death, causing injuries that had forced him to seek treatment.
