Rita Edochie, a seasoned Nollywood actress, responded to Yul Edochie’s assertions that he is not wed to Judy Austin, his second wife.
In an attempt to refute May Edochie’s lawsuit against him, Yul Edochie asserted that he and Judy Austin were only comedians and denied any marital status.
Yul said in court that his friendship with Judy Austin was centered around creating skits.
He insisted that their union is not recognized by the law.
Premium Times reports that May’s legal team, led by Due Process Advocates’ Emeka Ugwuonye, stated in a statement that the ongoing case at the FCT High Court, Abuja, which was scheduled for a hearing on March 5, encountered an unforeseen setback because the court session did not proceed—a development that Yul and Judy claimed credit for.
According to Ugwuonye, Yul claimed in his petition,
“That ever since the news of Star’s birth in June 2021, Gistlover—a negative blog that feeds on false information and manipulation for financial advantage—has been abusing every film or sketch that stars Judy and me and driving traffic to it on social media for financial gain.”
Additionally, he said that May had mentioned in her petition a supposed traditional marriage ceremony that Yul and Judy were to have on April 24, 2022, in Anambra State.
However, Yul refuted the allegation and charged that a blog had spread misleading information in order to make money.
Rita Edochie expressed her reaction to the incident on Instagram, asking if Judy Austin’s marriage to him made her a skit creator.
