The nation’s security network is now being reviewed and strengthened at meetings between the president, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retired), and security chiefs.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria, the president postponed a number of his official events, including the groundbreaking ceremony for the new technology and innovation complex at the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure, in order to preside over the emergency meeting with the security chiefs.
Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, Secretary to the Government of the Federation Boss Mustapha, President’s Chief of Staff Prof. Ibrahim Gambari, and National Security Advisor Major General Babagana Monguno are present at the meeting (retd.).
The Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Awwal Gambo; the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Farouk Yahaya; the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Isiaka Amao; and the Chief of Defence Staff are the others.
The Director-General of the Department of State Service, Yusuf Bichi, the Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency, Ahmed Rufai, and the Inspector-General of Police, Usman Baba, are also present.
