Burned-to-death passengers in an Enugu car accident

A deadly accident in Enugu State apparently resulted in the burn death of many people.

Around 9:30 p.m. on Sunday, the car accident occurred on the Enugu/Port-Harcourt route close to the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital, Ituku-Ozalla.

The collision has been confirmed by the Federal Road Safety Corps, who described it as regrettable.

FRSC was unable to provide a causality number, however sources indicated that 13 passengers had burns that rendered them unrecognizable.

A 14-seater bus believed to be traveling from Imo State to Adamawa was claimed to have been involved in the tragedy. According to reports, the car struck a trailer before catching fire.

Enugu State Sector Commander, FRSC, Mr. Joseph Toby, confirmed the occurrence and informed our correspondent that the investigation was still underway at the location of the accident.

Any figure out there, in his opinion, is inaccurate and speculative. My boys are still at the accident scene,” he stated. The accident that started the fire involved a commercial vehicle. Therefore, as I am now telling you, my people are still there. We are unsure of the precise number of parties involved, and I don’t want to start spreading false information.

But we will publish it online as soon as more information is acquired. The precise number of participants is unknown. It took place last night. We worked with the fire department to put out the fire throughout the night, but this morning we struggled to get there due to the sit-at-home order. Eventually, I took my boys, and we are now there. Any figure you see is merely a hunch since we have to be absolutely certain about what we disclose to the public.

But he thought the episode was regrettable.
