The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is a Nigerian law enforcement organization established in 2003 under President Olusegun Obasanjo in response to an upsurge in financial crime in Nigeria.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission is organized based on ranks and years of experience in the system. All federal government parastatals in Nigeria use the Consolidated Para-Military compensation Structure (CONPASS), a standardized compensation structure for paramilitary units.

Ranks of EFCC
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), like other armed forces, is organized into various levels, ranging from Assistant Detective Superintendent to Director.

Senior EFCC officers involved in leadership and decision-making must hold a university degree or an equivalent certification.

Below are the list of rank in the EFCC:

1. Assistant Detective Superintendent (ADS):

The Assistant Detective Superintendent is the entry-level rank in the EFCC. The ADS is required to have at least five years of experience in law enforcement or auditing.

2. Detective Superintendent (DS):

The Detective Superintendent is the second rank in the EFCC. The DS is expected to have a minimum of 10 years of law enforcement or auditing experience.

3. Chief Detective Superintendent (CDS):

Chief Detective Superintendent is the third rank in the EFCC. It requires a minimum of 15 years of law enforcement or auditing experience.

4. Assistant Director (AD):

The Assistant Director is the rank above Chief Detective Superintendent. It requires a minimum of 20 years of law enforcement or auditing experience.

5. Deputy Director (DD):

The Deputy Director is the second-highest rank in the EFCC. It requires a minimum of 25 years of law enforcement or auditing experience.

6. Director:

The Director is the highest rank in the EFCC. The position is occupied by one of the most experienced and qualified law enforcement officials in Nigeria.

Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Salary – 2024 Updated

The salary structure for EFCC is determined by an individual’s level, qualifications and years of service.

1. Assistant Detective Superintendent (ADS) – N140,000 per month
2. Detective Superintendent (DS) – N150,000 per month
3. Chief Detective Superintendent (CDS) – N170,000 per month
4. Assistant Director (AD) – N190,000 per month
5. Deputy Director (DD) – N250,000 per month
6. Director – N300,000 per month
