Mr. Jollof: Burna Boy Rejected N1 Billion Performance Fee
Nigerian comedian and event promoter Mr. Jollof, also known as Freedom Okpetoritse Atsepoyi, has said that Afrobeats artist Burna Boy turned down a N1 billion gig offer.
The comedian revealed that the performance in Warri, Delta State, had been organized by him and a few investors.
Mr. Jollof clarified that they had made an offer of $1 million (N1.3 billion) to the singer’s management, but they were turned down because the amount was less than the singer’s fees.
This was revealed by the comedian in a recent Instagram post.
“Me and a few investors reached out to Burna Boy’s team for a concert in Delta State for One Million US Dollars (1.3 billion Naira today’s rate),
” he wrote in Pidgin English. What do you think? It’s too tiny, they claimed.
“Burna Boy isn’t going to be in the Nigerian music scene again since we didn’t exploit him to his full potential prior to his export to other countries. Not lighthearted.
