Uriel Oputa, a former Big Brother Naija ‘All-Stars’ Housemate and cum singer, claims she is a better actor than certain Nollywood actresses.During a recent interview on Cool FM,
Uriel claimed that numerous filmmakers wanted her to appear in their films, but she declined.According to the reality TV personality, her inherent artistic instincts and knowledge of drama in the United Kingdom set her apart from other film stars.
Uriel went on to say that being stereotyped into a part, predictable screenplays, and compensation for acting positions are the reasons he declines filmmaking. “A lot of people [filmmakers] have approached me to be in movies,” she remarked.I’m constantly asked to be in movies; in my DMs and emails, I’m solicited to be an actress.
“And I know I’m a fantastic actress.” I’m probably better than some of the Nollywood actresses right now. That’s me being honest. Aside from having a natural artistic flair, I studied drama in the United Kingdom. So I know I’m a really excellent actor.
“I’ve been approached by a number of people about getting into acting, but I’ve always declined.” I declined acting jobs in Nigeria because, one, you’re always going to be stereotyped into a position; two, some of the scripts are a little too predictable; and three, they [filmmakers] don’t pay much.”
