Images: Rema Goes to Obaseki and Shares Her Plans for an Art and Entertainment Project

Godwin Obaseki, the governor of Edo State, has pledged to help up-and-coming musicians in the region so they can compete favorably with their international counterparts.
The governor made the guarantee while having lunch at the Government House in Benin City, Edo State, with Divine Ikubor, better known as Rema, an Afrobeats singer who was born in Edo.

“He is here for a private lunch,” Obaseki remarked. We had a chance to talk to him and catch up. Since I became governor, he has not visited this place. Just as I was taking office as governor, Rema departed Edo. It’s good to see him again after a six-year absence.

We had the chance to inform him of everything we have accomplished and our interest in helping young individuals working in the entertainment, arts, and cultural fields. We’ve started talking to him about a landmark art project for this region of the country and city.

Rema thanked the people of Edo State on his behalf for their support during his musical career.

Additionally, he expressed gratitude to the governor for his concern for the State’s youth.

“We spoke about a lot of important things, especially his program for the young people,” he added, adding that the meal had been excellent. Seeing a governor that is concerned about the future is just lovely.

In addition to his tenure, he has plans for the years beyond the eight years.
We have a plethora of resources available for the youth of the State. If it weren’t for the young people in Nigeria, I never would have come here. They are the people I inspire and motivate, who I live for and am a part of. They represent the following generation.

“Now is the time to do something for the youths,” he stated in reference to his art project. All I want to do is act. I’ve managed to achieve success in the music business. Taking Benin City with me, I set out to perform on the international stage.
