The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) is a paramilitary organization within the Federal Republic of Nigerian government tasked with protecting the country and its people from threats, attacks, and natural disasters.

The Consolidated Naval Salary Structure (CONNESS), which was implemented in 2017, serves as the foundation for the civil defense pay scale. There are two types in the compensation structure: non-commission officers and commission officers.

A level 8 officer with a degree in Civil Defense makes, on average, ₦88,035 a month.

Nigeria Civil Defence Ranks for Commissioned officers

These sets of officers are in charge and control of the decision-making, they are above and given directly to the non-commission officers. You must have graduated from an accredited polytechnic or university with a second-class lower degree or lower credit. They are thought to be in command of the leadership.

Nigerian Civil Defence Ranks for Non – Commissioned officers

Non-commission officers are junior officers of the Nigerian Civil Defence. They are primarily personnel recruited using secondary school certificates and have completed the mandated training program.

  • Assistant Cadet Inspector (ACI).
  • Cadet Inspector (CI).
  • Assistant Superintendent of Corps II (ASCI).
  • Assistant Superintendent of Corps I (ASCI).
  • Deputy Superintendent of Corps (DSC).

Civil Defence Salary Structure

The salary structure for Civil Defence officers is determined by an individual’s qualifications and years of service.

  • If the individual is a medical doctor, he is placed on level 12.
  • A master’s degree holder is placed on level 9.
  • A lawyer, on the other hand, is placed on level 9.
  • If the individual is a graduate, he is placed at Level 8.
  • An HND holder, on the other hand, is placed on Level 7.
