A brawl erupted among Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) students at a nightclub in Ogbomosho, Oyo State, on Monday night, and one person is said to have died.

The incident stemmed from a misunderstanding that resulted in a confrontation between two groups of students at a prominent local establishment.

The brawl broke out when they were enjoying the institution’s convocation event.

When the brawl became more violent, the club’s owner summoned the police to help contain the situation. According to eyewitnesses, one person was believed to have died and several were injured when the conflict turned bloody.

While it is unclear what caused the student’s death, his body has been stored at the Ogbomosho Police Area Command.

As of the time of publication, police and LAUTECH officials have not to comment on the incident.
