Paul Okoye Speaks On Being Flogged By 50 Cent Bouncers And Chased Out Of Backstage

Nigerian singer Paul Okoye, commonly known as Rudeboy of the P-Square, has denied charges made by Eedris Abdulkareem that his group was assaulted by American rapper 50 Cent and his entourage during a 2004 concert at Lagos’ Tafawa Balewa Square.

In a recent podcast interview, Abdulkareem said that 50 Cent’s crew flogged and chased Nigerian artists, including P-Square, out of the backstage area during a concert.

He claimed that he was the only Nigerian musician who refused to be intimidated after one of the organisers intervened in the fight between him and the Americans.

In response, Rudeboy stated during an Instagram live session with followers that P-Square did not attend the performance because the organisers were unable to reach an agreement on booking fees.

According to him, Abdulkareem cheated other Nigerian artists by going behind them and accepting “peanut” from the show organizers despite committing to significant performance fees.

He also called Abdulkareem a liar, saying that they were never at the show.

He said, “P-Square did not attend the [50 Cent] show. We held another concert. We were never billed. The explanation was that they offered us peanuts but we refused. But Eedris Abdulkareem accepted the peanut and expected VIP treatment. The 50 Cent team did not beat you well.

“Respect yourself. P-Square was never listed on the bill for that show. Everyone, including Daddy Showkey and Tony Tetuila, says Eedris is a liar. We know he is a liar. We were never billed for the concert. “We did not go.”
